Stewart Gardner (MUTV) support

Gerry & Geraldine met Stewart at Old Trafford the weekend of 5th November 2011. Stewart kindly signed a charity card. We also hope to write to MUTV to help get charity cards signed by some past players whom Christopher met. Sincere thanks to Stewart for giving his time on a busy match day.

Rio Ferdinand support

Gerry & Geraldine were in Rosso's Restaurant in Manchester on 6th November 2011. Rosso's is part owned by Rio Ferdinand who called in that night. It was great for us when he signed a charity card and were then given a signed photo both to help raise funds. Our thanks to Rio and especially the staff of Rosso's for their help.

Martin Buchan support

Gerry & Geraldine met Martin recently in Manchester. We had met Martin some years ago at a testimonial in Old Trafford for Jimmy Curran. Martin sent us a signed photo/charity card which we will use to raise funds. Martin played 456 games for Man United being captain for six years in the 70's. Sincere thanks Martin for this.

Neville, Scholes & Giggs add Support

Gary Neville, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs were in Belfast for the 20th Anniversary of The George Best Carryduff Man United Supporters Club. It was great to get the signatures of these three legends on our charity poster and two United jerseys. We sincerely thank John Dempsey (Chairman) and John White (Secretary) of the Supporters Club for giving us the opportunity to meet the players and help us raise funds for the charity.

Our thanks to Sir Alex and players who signed several of our charity posters to help raise funds. Jimmy Curran met with Sir Alex and the team before the away game at Aston Villa in November 2010. The signatures include: Sir Alex, Hernandez, Fletcher, Carrick, Smalling, Brown, O'Shea, Fabio, Park.

Charity in United Programme

Gerry and Geraldine were at the Blackburn in November 2010 – United won 7 – 1!  Our thanks
to United for mentioning us, the charity and Christopher in the match day programme.

"Geraldine and Gerry McCollum from Bangor are here to watch the Reds and also visit the commemorative brick for their son Christopher, who died of Muscular Dystrophy in 2001. They have set up a charity in his memory to help improve the quality of life of youngsters with disabilities."

Phil Downs, Disability Liaison Officer, Manchester United

Gerry and Geraldine met with Phil Downs in The Disabled Supporters Ability Suite in November 2010. Phil is the Founder of MUDSA and past Chairman of The National Association of Disabled Supporters. Our thanks to Phil for his encouragement and words of advice for the charity.
